Well I just started working at the Whitefire Theatre 3 years ago. But my Christmas show, Santasia, has been performing there for the past 16 years. I found Yapsody several years ago and we’ve been using you exclusively since. I got the theatre on board to Yapsody on just a few events. They don’t do well with change. They’ve been using Brown Paper Tickets forever. The theatre started Live Streaming shows a couple years ago and with Covid-19 we’re unable to have live audiences. We were already ahead of the game. Lots of theatres in Los Angeles have closed but we are lucky enough to keep plugging along with the Live Stream performances. In April we started Live Streaming solo artist shows but had to use Eventbrite because they had “clickable links” in their ticketing email. We needed a way for our audiences to “click” on the video link for our Live Stream event. I put in the request in April. We needed a quick fix so we wound up using Eventbrite. A few weeks ago Yapsody let me know they made changes and after a few more tweaks on your end, we’ve switched from Eventbrite to Yapsody. I made requests to remove “print this and bring it to the venue” and the scan code… and it happened almost immediately.
Once I showed the theatre owner and the other producers how Yapsody has changed to meet our needs, it was a no brainer to switch to Yapsody. Thanks to your team, Sam, Marcus, Scott and everyone else I missed for all their hard work.

I use Yapsody for all my ticketing needs for Spotlight Studios for the Performing Arts in Fairport NY (a suburb of Rochester NY). Spotlight is all about educational performances for Kindergartner through high school seniors. We produce over 20 shows a year with different age groups. Our space only seats 110 but having Yapsody as our ticketing service has made our lives so much easier. We used paper tickets before we discovered Yapsody and handled all the ticket purchases, refunds and ticket switches by hand (not forgetting about parents who have lost their tickets, want to leave tickets at the box office for several different family members to pick up). Yapsody has made all aspects of ticket sales super easy.
Setting up a new show is simple – I just copy a previous production and change the dates, logo and show description.
We have a limited number of seats available so we set up access codes that allow parents to buy a up to certain number of tickets to make sure all families are able to get tickets.
I love connecting with Yapsody support. They are always very responsive, helpful, and cheerful. I have communicated with support through email and through the online chat. I recommend Yapsody to everyone. I convinced another theatre group in the area to use Yapsody for their ticketing. They have assigned seating so between yapsody support and my help, they got that set up and it works beautifully. I am also quick to recommend Yapsody whenever anyone on social media asks for ticketing website advice.
Things I really REALLY love about Yapsody:
1) The apps for my iphone! I love being able to see how many tickets have been sold or are left for any particular production. I love LOVE having the ability to scan in tickets at performance time and being able to look them up if customers “forget” or lose their tickets. I also love that if I ever use more than one usher, each one could be running the app on their phone.
2) Online sales. I never have to deal with a ticket sale in person. I publish my yapsody storefront on my website, on social media and in email blasts.
3) Paypal. When a ticket sale happens, I get the money right away.
4) Ticket refunds are super easy.
We’ve used three different ways to sell event tickets for our charity firework night. In the past, just offline and on-the-gate sales. A mixture of offline and online. This year, because we could pre-print tickets for offline sales, Yapsody enabled us to track all our offline and online sales in one place.
In the past we had no way to see if everyone had arrived on site. Our offline tickets couldn\’t be tracked. It was great to be able to know when everyone had arrived on site. Selling tickets before the event massively helps us with our costs. Another great benefit is being able to use either Yapsody’s mobile apps or a simple QR reading app to check people in.

Yapsody makes it easy to customize the events for our museum with the various options offered for event set-up. I like that we can add a photo to the event information and give a lot of details about the event on the initial screen. Plus, we can create different categories for tickets, such as age ranges for children’s tickets for our children’s event programming.
Yapsody is our museum\’s first foray into using on-line tickets. Previously, guests had to call into our office to make reservations or else mail in an RSVP card with payment. Unfortunately, this method limited our guests to only being able to call during our regular business hours. Now, with Yapsody, someone can make a reservation at any time of day and, with your customer support, they can also ask questions of our office even when we are not open.
Yapsody definitely saves time in our event management. We like that we can format a PDF of guest attendance to include however much or little information as we need for check-in purposes. Most guests will bring their paper ticket or have it on their phone, but with sometimes sporadic WI-FI at our historic site, it is good to have a print out available. Also, we have noticed that on-line sales are gradually increasing because people are accustomed to ordering tickets whenever they want no matter the time of day.
Yapsody’s customer support has allowed our guests to ask questions about an event or their ticket purchases even if the office is not open. Generally, our staff tries to respond to their requests within a reasonable amount of time.

Yapsody combines the best of two worlds very well: Price and Functionality. Not only can sell event tickets online the way that I want them, the pricing is the best on the market. What other companies sell as add-ons or enterprise-only features are standard with Yapsody. This tells me that Yapsody puts their customers first.
Many of the features we were looking for, like customized tickets and reserved seating, came at highly marked-up costs. We also couldn’t get any recognition as a nonprofit.
Selling tickets was easy and checking them in at the event was quick and simple. We have received many comments from our guests that they really enjoyed our events and that the whole process was very professional. This was due in large part to Yapsody.
On several occasions, we approached Yapsody’s customer support for help in how to accomplish a particular vision using Yapsody. Every time we spoke with someone, we were provided with quick and valuable responses. While we weren’t able to do everything we wanted, when something was available, we were give very clear guidance on how to do it.

We were interested in adding online ticket sales to make it easier for our customers to buy tickets for our annual youth musical production- and after looking into a few other online tickets vendors, we tried Yapsody- and it was a perfect fit! Account and Box Office set up was a breeze and our customers reported quick and easy transactions without any headaches. The free ticket scanning app for our volunteers’ phones made loading the theatre quick and easy. Finding tickets, refunding. etc. was a breeze. The Yapsody fees are very competitive and the monthly invoicing is straight forward.
What really sets Yapsody apart is the excellent customer service: everything from the free account walk through and as-needed online chats to the ad-hoc phone support. When we had questions (and we did!)- Yapsody quickly had the answers!

As a volunteer at my daugher’s school I was able to help our organization using Yapsody even though I am not a technical expert. I knew I would have help from customer support 24/7. This is my first experience with event ticketing and Yapsody is a Professional site, easy to track income. Set up was straightforward.

I would definitely recommend Yapsody. I’m part of Theatre Group and Yapsody has been extremely helpful in keeping track of ticket volume and sales. It doesn’t take a lot to set up and maintaining my account is easy. Any time I had a concern or question, the customer service dept. provided excellent service. I also like that they emailed a copy of the call, so I can put the instructions they provided on file for my reference.
For us at the Stratford Perth Museum, Yapsody has been an integral part of our remarkable growth over the past five years. When we signed up for Yapsody, we had no online tickets options at all and Yapsody was recommended to us by our website provider and a provincial tourism partner. In 2013, we had 853 visitors to the Museum, this year we will have well over 10,000.
Over the past few years we have had several high profile exhibits and events where controlling the number of tickets sold was vitally important. So, while Yapsody gives us the ability to sell tickets online, its real value is giving us an up to the minute total as to the number of tickets sold. Given the great online settings, we can quickly close ticket sales from a desktop or even a phone. We used this for the Anne Frank House exhibit, Shakespeare’s First Folio and the Franklin Expedition exhibit from the Royal Ontario Museum.
But, the best example was last year for the opening of our Justin Bieber exhibit Steps to Stardom. We had no idea that the opening would be so popular, but weeks in advance, we noticed that ticket sales were through the roof and we closed off sales. On the opening weekend we had patrons from the UK, France as well as all over Canada and the United States. We had to limit the number of people in the exhibit at anyone time. Without Yapsody, we would have had to turn people away at the door – which would have been terrible.
On Yapsody I have a branded URL (with my museum name) and also main site to send people that lists all of my upcoming events. On some other ticketing sites there is no main page only individual event links and the links are generic (like the ticketing host company name and an event number.)
Yapsody fees are significantly less. I could go into detail here but you may already have this information. Some other sites charge a large sump sum fee, like $2 a ticket. This doesn’t make sense when my events are for $10 or less to than add on $2. On Yapsody the additional fee on a $10 ticket is a very reasonable 76 cents.

USC Rip City is a community based basketball association. About 5 years ago we grew and evolved from offering simply community based junior club basketball to a comprehensive program including semi-profession men’s and women’s team. With this growth in our program, while still being largely a volunteer run organisation we needed to access programs and systems that were affordable and allowed us to easily run a professional ticketing system.
Yapsody has provided us with a very intuitive system to use with flexibility to have general admission or assigned seating as we need for an event. The platform has integrated seamlessly with online payment systems we have in place that transfer the funds for sales to us seamlessly and in a very timely manner. While initially only intended for use with our semi-profession game ticketing and major events we have since found it to be an effective tool to manage presale of many of our programs including junior clinics and camps offered throughout the year.
We have even had the opportunity to provide ticketing service at our home venue for a one off game for a professional sports team who specifically comments on how well we had run the ticketing process.
Yapsody has totally changed the experience of our school’s parents, students and guests. People used to wait in line for hours to buy tickets and get seats for our school concerts, plays and performances. But now, with the online ticket sales and reserved seating the lineups are gone and everyone enjoys the show. We even use the Access Code feature to give volunteers early access to tickets – and our volunteer spots now fill up within hours. People are amazed at the level of professional experience we provide through Yapsody for a high school.

I have used Yapsody for our online reserved seating ticketing for 3 years. I have found the platform to be relatively easy to maneuver and I like that it offers many features not found on other online ticketing sites. We have a discount period, and Yapsody allows us to set the dates for when we want the discount. We have presales and Yapsody has a code option which allows those involved with the presale to access the site while others cannot. The thing that is the best about Yapsody is the online chat support service. If there is an issue, you can chat with a service representative and they help you through it at that point in time, unlike others where you may have to wait for a day or two for someone to get back to you. I also like the report availability, it shows you a quick glance or a more in-depth view. Really very happy with the changes made over the years to make the site even more user friendly than it was the year before.
